There was one new corporate member (Takeda) added during the previous 12 months. The 24 member companies continue to account for approximately 60% of the total global turnover of ethical drugs (approximately $500 billion); by far the majority of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies are P-D-R members. The Pharma Documentation Ring (P-D-R) held its 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Montreux, Switzerland from the 23rd – 26th September 2008. This year’s meeting celebrated the 50th anniversary of the group’s founding. The P-D-R is an association whose members represent the scientific information departments of the leading international R&D-based pharmaceutical corporations. There were two new corporate members (Ferring Pharmaceuticals and UCB) added during the previous 12 months. The 23 member companies continue to account for approximately 60% of the total global turnover of ethical drugs (approximately $500 billion); by far the majority of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies are P-D-R members.

The Pharma Documentation Ring (P-D-R) held its 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Philadelphia, USA from the 25th – 28th September 2007. The P-D-R is an association whose members represent the scientific information departments of the leading international R&D-based pharmaceutical corporations. This was the first occasion that the association has held a meeting outside of Europe and is in recognition of an increasing involvement from US headquartered companies and delegates. There was no change to the total number of corporate members during the previous 12 months. The 21 member companies continue to account for approximately 60% of the total global turnover of ethical drugs (approximately $500 billion); by far the majority of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies are P-D-R members.

The P-D-R is an association whose members represent the scientific information departments of the leading international R&D-based pharmaceutical corporations. There was no change to the number of corporate members during the previous 12 months. The 20 member companies continue to account for approximately 60% of the total global turnover of ethical drugs (approximately $500 billion); by far the majority of top 20 global pharmaceutical companies are P-D-R members.

The Pharma Documentation Ring (P-D-R) held its 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bürgenstock, near Lucerne, Switzerland from the 5th – 8th October 2004. The P-D-R is an association which represents the scientific information departments of the leading international R&D-based pharmaceutical corporations. Despite merger and acquisition activity in the pharmaceutical industry, the number of corporate members has remained stable at 22. The latter account for approximately 60% of the total global turnover of ethical drugs (approximately $470 billion in 2004); by far the majority of top 20 global pharmaceutical players are P-D-R members.

The 22 corporate members account for approximately 60% of the total global turnover of ethical drugs (approximately $430 billion); by far the majority of top 20 global pharmaceutical companies are P-D-R members.

The Pharma Documentation Ring (P-D-R) held its 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Newmarket, UK from the 8th – 11th October 2002. The P-D-R is an association whose members represent the scientific information departments of the leading R&D-based pharmaceutical corporations. The 23 companies represented account for approximately 60% of the total global turnover of ethical drugs., by far the majority of top 20 global pharmaceutical companies are corporate P-D-R members. Over 45 delegates from 11 different countries in Europe and North America attended this year’s meeting, which was ably hosted by GlaxoSmithKline. An informal reception for delegates prior to the official opening of the meeting was organised by Thompson Derwent.

The Pharma Documentation Ring (P-D-R) held a Special Meeting on Linking on the 30-31st March 2000 in Runnymede, UK. Linking is a powerful capability that has emerged from the increased opportunities for R&D scientists to navigate through the scientific and medical literature in the electronic domain as a result of the widespread use of the world wide web, electronic journals, and on-line databases. The P-D-R is an association whose members represent the scientific information departments of the leading R&D-based pharmaceutical corporations. The meeting was attended by a total of 52 delegates, 36 of whom were from 21 different P-D-R member companies, and 16 from invited publishers, on-line information providers and scientific software suppliers.

41st Annual General Meeting of the P-D-R 1999
The Pharma Documentation Ring (PDR) held its 41st Annual General meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark from the 29th September to the 1st October 1999. The PDR is an association whose members represent the scientific information departments of the leading R&D-based pharmaceutical corporations. The 28 Companies, who were represented, account for more than half of the total global turnover ($296 billion) of ethical drugs in 1999. This year's successful meeting, excellently organised by Novo Nordisk, was attended by 40 delegates from the member companies, with Lundbeck represented for the first time. The total number of member companies has shown a slight fall over the last 3 years due to continuing consolidation in the Pharmaceutical Industry. The existing PDR Board was re-elected for a further term of 2 years.

Press Release on the 40th AGM of the PDR
The Pharma Documentation Ring (PDR) held its 40th Annual General Meeting in Montpellier, France from the 30th September to the 2nd October. The PDR is an association whose members represent the information departments of the leading R&D-based pharmaceutical corporations. The 25 Companies, who were all represented at the meeting, account for more than half of the total global turnover ($xxx billion) of ethical drugs in 1997. This year's successful meeting, excellently organized by Sanofi Recherche, was attended by 42 delegates from the member companies, with Eli Lilly attending for the first time. In addition, 10 former members, including x past presidents attended the 40th anniversary celebrations.

Press Release for the 39th PDR Annual General Meeting
The Pharma Documentation Ring (PDR) held its 39th Annual General Meeting in Berlin from 24- 26 September 1997. The PDR is an association whose members consist of representatives from the scientific information departments of, currently 26, R&D-based pharmaceutical corporations, the latter now account for almost half of the total global turnover ($225 billion) of ethical drugs in 1996. This year's successful meeting, excellently organized by Schering AG, was attended by some 40 delegates from all member companies. Merck & Co and Hoffmann La Roche attended for the first time.
